Forging
steel
We perform closed die forging of various steel grades, from stainless steels (AISI 304, 316, 420) to high and low alloy tool steels (for example 42CrMo4, 27MnCrB5-2, C45E) and carbon structural steels.
When required, we also forge special alloys with titanium or nickel additions for projects which demand increased toughness and wear resistance. Our forgings serve in technically demanding applications where strength and toughness represent key requirements.
We specialize in hot forging of semi finished parts from 0.1 to 7 kg and reach dimensional tolerances down to ±0.2 mm.
During forging, grain flow aligns with the main load direction, which delivers density above 99.8 percent and up to 30 percent higher resistance to fracture compared with casting or milling. Forged steel parts therefore reach longer service life, higher load capacity and reduced need for later machining.
Our steel forging program focuses on
-
Mechanical engineering and industrial equipment
-
Forklift and lifting system industry
-
Agricultural machinery
-
Structures, roads and bridges
-
Lifting systems and chains
-
Transport and technical assemblies
For forging we use a computer controlled CNC forging hammer with 50 kJ energy, which allows full control of blow energy and material temperature. Per year we process up to 800 tons of steel, which places us among the most productive boutique forges in the region.

STEEL FORGING (5 facts)
42CrMo4 – steel for highly loaded parts
Steel 42CrMo4 is one of the most common grades in mechanical engineering for shafts, levers and tools. After quenching and tempering it reaches strength above 1000 N/mm² and offers an excellent combination of toughness and elasticity. In forged form it is used where cast parts fail too fast under dynamic loads.
27MnCrB5-2 – steel for wear resistance
Steel 27MnCrB5-2 contains boron additions that increase surface hardenability and wear resistance. It is used for agricultural tools, blades and tool parts where a tough core and hard surface are required.
AISI 316 – stainless steel for extreme conditions
Stainless steel AISI 316 contains molybdenum, which improves resistance to corrosion and acids. Forged AISI 316 keeps a homogeneous structure even after heat treatment and is used in marine, chemical and demanding energy environments.
50 kJ forging blow – power and precision
Our 50 kJ CNC forging hammer delivers blows with energy up to 50,000 joules, controlled by a computer system. Each blow is recorded in the process database, which provides traceability, repeatability and complete quality documentation.
Steel forging temperature – art and science
The optimal steel forging temperature lies between 1150 °C and 1250 °C. Too high temperature leads to oxidation, too low temperature leads to grain fracture. An experienced forger reads the difference from the shade of red hot metal, a combination of knowledge and intuition.
Frequently asked questions about steel forging
How does the closed die steel forging process work? The material is heated to 1150–1250 °C and shaped inside the die under several consecutive blows. The process increases density and homogeneity of the steel.
What is the difference between forging and casting?
Forged parts have oriented grain structure and almost no porosity, so they achieve higher strength, toughness and durability.
What does accuracy ±0.2 mm mean?
This value represents dimensional deviation after forging without additional machining, result of high repeatability under CNC control.
