Fact about history of forging
The first forgings were made more than 6,000 years ago. Blacksmiths in Mesopotamia used iron and copper to make tools and weapons. Modern closed die forging developed in the 19th century with the invention of mechanical hammers. Today processes such as those used by Extra Forge reach accuracy of ±0.2 mm and connect the art and science of forging.
Long term goals (2028–2032)
Establish the smart factory “Smart Forge 4.0”
-
full digitalization of production, use of sensors and AI based quality analytics to monitor every blow and heat cycle
Sustainable direction and reduction of carbon footprint
-
shift to 100 percent renewable energy sources, heat recovery and circular economy in production
Strengthen export and partnerships across Europe
-
long term contracts with industries in energy, e mobility, mechanical engineering, structures and lifting systems
Development of new materials and forging technologies
-
research of aluminium series 5xxx, 6xxx, 7xxx, steels 42CrMo4, C45, AISI 316 and advanced titanium alloys Ti6Al4V
